The Easington Gas Terminal in East Yorkshire, owned and operated by Centrica Storage, is one of three main terminals that process gas from the UK Continental Shelf.

Servelec Controls initial involvement at Easington was the design, supply, install and commissioning of a £1.5million Emergency Shut Down system. The project scope was broadened to include a new Fire & Gas System, in a project worth a further £2million.

After the York Gas Field started production in 2013, the Easington Gas Terminal was expanded and Servelec Controls were again awarded the contract for both the Fire & Gas and Emergency Shut Down systems, bringing the total project value to almost £5million.

Servelec Controls also operates an engineering support and maintenance contract with Centrica for ongoing work on Fire & Gas and Emergency Shut Down Systems.

Easington accepts and processes gas from 10 fields off the East Yorkshire Coast as well as from the Langeled pipeline, the world’s longest subsea pipeline which imports gas from Norwegian producers into the UK’s National Transmission System.
