Servelec Controls is to continue to support National Grid plc with the maintenance and expansion of two systems that are critical to the security of supply of the UK’s energy networks.
Standing Reserve Despatch, SRD (now more commonly known as Short Term Operating Reserve – STOR) and the Frequency Control by Demand Management (FCDM) systems are used by National Grid to manage the high-voltage electric power transmission throughout Great Britain.
The project is part of a long running relationship with National Grid, with over 120 systems installed across the UK.
