Servelec Controls is a leading integrator of functional safety instrumented systems for demanding and hazardous industries, specialising in oil and gas, power, nuclear and infrastructure.
Reliable and robust safety systems are critical for the protection of personnel, plant and the environment. Our expert TÜV certified functional safety engineers are experienced at designing, building and commissioning industrial safety solutions using equipment from leading manufacturers, including but not limited to:
SIRA CASS accredited, our TÜV certified functional safety experts ensure best engineering practice in accordance with all relevant standards. As founder members of the 61508 association, Servelec sets the standard for system development that meets IEC 61511, 61508 and 62443 for system safety and security, reflected in our status with:
The safety solutions designed by Servelec Controls minimise risk by providing accurate and reliable information required to take preventative action, giving sufficient time to shut off systems or evacuate areas prior to an emergency. Our safety solutions include:
Our emergency shutdown systems are designed to minimise the consequences of emergency situations in hazardous environments such as a chemical release, fire, or explosion. Servelec Controls designed systems are trusted by the largest operators to protect onshore and offshore assets and the people that work on them. Read our case studies to find out more.
A fire and gas safety system adds a mitigating layer of protection to an emergency shutdown system, should an event occur. Fire and gas safety systems reduce the severity of an identified event such as when gas, smoke, flame or heat is detected by raising an alarm and initiating further suppression and isolation systems as required. FGS systems are often complex with data acquired from many dispersed detection devices located across an asset simultaneously. Read our case studies to find out more about the FGS systems Servelec Controls provides.
VESDA systems are the first line of defence against catastrophic fire emergencies. They are installed in areas where an early warning and response to fire is vital, such as offshore oil and gas platforms. They do this by continuously analysing air samples using a laser light source to detect smoke particles. If smoke is detected above a defined threshold, an alarm is triggered by the building management system. Our engineers are experienced at creating systems using the leading VESDA product range by Xtralis ensuring life, property and the environment are protected against fire.
A HIPPS protects equipment and assets from the invisible danger of over-pressurisation and is vital for the safe operation of chemical and hydrocarbon production. A high integrity pressure protection system analyses pressure and then isolates and shuts off the source of the high pressure before a system’s design pressure is exceeded. Servelec Controls has designed and commissioned many IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 compliant high integrity pressure protection systems for our clients. Contact us today to find out more.
